Job summary

A leading company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide legal expertise and contract management support. The role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with local laws, and providing legal advice on HR and procurement matters. This position requires a strong background in legal advisory with a focus on contracts, along with excellent drafting skills in both Arabic and English.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience focused on contracts.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi Government Procurement Law is essential.
• Strong background in HR/employment law and intellectual property rights.

Job description

To provide legal expertise, contract management, and compliance support to ensure the organization’s activities are conducted within the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, with a specific focus on procurement, HR, intellectual property, and media-related contracts.

Key Responsibilities :

• Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including :
• Goods and services contracts in line with UAE and Abu Dhabi laws.
• External hiring and freelancer agreements.
• MOUs and framework agreements.
• NDAs (unilateral and mutual).
• Provide sound legal advice on matters related to :
• HR and employment law, including interpretation of Abu Dhabi HR regulations.
• Procurement law specific to Abu Dhabi Government.
• Intellectual property rights, licensing, and waivers.
• Develop and maintain customized legal templates tailored to the company’s needs (e.g., termination notices, renewal letters, IP waivers).
• Ensure all contracts and agreements comply with relevant legal frameworks and mitigate legal risks.
• Deliver internal legal awareness and training sessions to business units.
• Liaise with external legal counsel where necessary to support complex or specialized matters.
• Stay updated on changes in local laws and regulations affecting public relations, government procurement, and HR.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s or relevant legal certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience , with a strong focus on contracts and corporate legal advisory.
• Demonstrated experience with Abu Dhabi Government Procurement Law is essential.
• Strong background in HR / employment law and intellectual property rights .
• Familiarity with media and communications contracts is preferred.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in both Arabic and English .
• High attention to detail, legal precision, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
