As a Legal Counsel, you will work closely with our General Counsel to handle all complex legal matters and projects, as part of the Legal team across EMPG. You will ensure the legality of commercial transactions and advise our company on legal rights and duties. You will be responsible to draft, review, negotiate and follow up on a variety of contracts under the direction of the General Counsel. Your role will be to support EMPG Group’s global legal functions, with primary responsibilities linked to EMPG’s UAE businesses.

In this role, you will:

1. Handle all corporate legal processes (e.g., intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, compliance, transactions, lawsuits, patents).
2. Develop company policies and legal positions.
3. Research and mitigate legal risks.
4. Guide managers to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
5. Draft, review, and structure legal documents and reports.
6. Represent the company in legal proceedings.
7. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and deal terms.
8. Coordinate with internal departments on legal and contract requirements.
9. Conduct training on contract processes.
10. Liaise with government authorities regarding contracts.
11. Organize and maintain legal documentation.
12. Provide administrative support to the Legal team.

Minimum requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent from a recognized commonwealth country; training at an international law firm preferred.
2. 5 to 8 years of relevant legal experience, including experience as a TMT lawyer.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
4. Strong background in corporate law, including contract, tax, securities, and intellectual property law.
5. Excellent communication skills, bilingual in Arabic and English preferred.
6. Ability to multitask, organize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong legal drafting skills and ability to handle complex legal issues.
8. Flexible to work across different legal practice areas.
