Why this role

KONE is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and manage legal matters across several countries in the Middle East and Africa region. The selected candidate will play a critical role in managing various legal risks and protecting the company's interests, including ensuring compliant business practices.

What will you be doing

  1. Provide expert legal advice on various legal matters.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate sales contracts, other contracts, and legal documents.
  3. Support colleagues in managing and responding to contractual claims to safeguard the company's interests.
  4. Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments, advising stakeholders on their impact.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to share best practices and align legal strategies with business goals.
  6. Maintain and manage relationships with external lawyers and advisors.
  7. Offer training on legal and compliance topics relevant to the business.
  8. Develop, implement, and update legal policies and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
  9. Provide support with compliance matters.

Are you the one

  • Master of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience working in a multinational company or a leading international law firm.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient Arabic and/or French language skills are considered a benefit.
  • A proven track record of managing a legal role independently and succeeding in an international working environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to express yourself clearly.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
