SoftwareOne seeks a Legal Counsel for UAE & Middle East to manage Dubai subsidiary matters and support regional teams within an international legal framework.

You will draft, review and negotiate complex software, IT services and framework contracts, and advise stakeholders across Sales, Finance and Compliance. Fluency in Arabic and English is essential, with local presence required in Dubai.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in law or equivalent.
• Ability to draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Strong commercial judgement balancing risk with business needs.
• Structured, responsive, solution-oriented; able to manage priorities.
• Fluency in Arabic and English; familiarity with Middle East regulations.
• Local presence required when engaging with the Dubai office.

Responsabilités

• Lead legal matters for Dubai subsidiary and support regional offices.
• Draft, review and negotiate customer, supplier, partner, software licensing and IT contracts.
• Provide practical legal support to Sales, Finance, Procurement, People & Culture, etc.
• Support regional projects and contract-management in an international setting.
• Coordinate with external lawyers and consultants for local or specialist advice.
• Assist data-protection matters, including DPA reviews with Data Protection teams.

This newly created role will strengthen the local legal presence supporting SoftwareOne’s business in Dubai and across the Middle East. You will work with colleagues in the region while remaining connected to a wider international Legal team, sharing knowledge and contributing to matters that extend beyond individual countries. As Legal Counsel for UAE & Middle East, you will take responsibility for day‑to‑day legal matters within SoftwareOne’s Dubai subsidiary and support other entities in the region. You will advise business stakeholders, negotiate commercial and technology‑related contracts, and coordinate with Group Legal, Data Protection, Compliance and external legal advisers.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for legal matters concerning SoftwareOne’s Dubai subsidiary and support other subsidiaries across the region.
• Draft, review and negotiate customer, supplier and partner contracts, including software licensing, IT services, managed services, framework and public‑sector agreements.
• Provide practical legal support to Sales, Finance, Procurement, People & Culture and other business stakeholders.
• Support regional projects, legal documentation and contract‑management activities in an international environment.
• Coordinate relationships with external lawyers and consultants when local or specialist advice is required.
• Support data‑protection matters, including reviewing data‑processing agreements and collaborating with Group Data Protection and Compliance teams.

Job Requirements

• A master’s degree in law or an equivalent legal qualification.
• Knowledge of contract law and the ability to draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Commercial judgement and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• A structured, responsive and solution‑oriented approach to managing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
• Awareness of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Middle East, including public‑sector requirements.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, enabling you to work with local and international stakeholders.
• Office Presence: Local presence is required when engaging with the Dubai office, business stakeholders or authorities.
• Nice To Have:
  • Experience with software licensing, technology or IT‑services agreements.
  • Exposure to data protection or technology‑related regulatory frameworks.
  • French‑language capability.
