Legal Counsel Job Description

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing all corporate legal processes, including intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, financial and securities offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, lawsuits, and patents.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing company policies and legal positions.
  2. Researching, anticipating, and mitigating legal risks.
  3. Guiding managers on compliance with rules and regulations.
  4. Structuring, drafting, and reviewing legal reports and documents.
  5. Representing the company in legal proceedings.
  6. Drafting, reviewing, and administering contracts.
  7. Negotiating deals and contract terms, attending company meetings.
  8. Monitoring contract compliance and advising on contractual rights and obligations.
  9. Collaborating with internal departments on contract requirements.
  10. Conducting training on contract processes.
  11. Liaising with government authorities regarding contracts.
  12. Organizing and maintaining contracts in filing systems.
  13. Providing administrative support to the Legal team.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent from England & Wales, Australia, South Africa, or other Commonwealth countries; training at an international law firm preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, particularly as a TMT lawyer (data privacy, telecoms, IT advisory).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong background in corporate law, including contract law, tax law, securities law, intellectual property, licensing, zoning laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time-sensitive documents, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong academic record, drafting skills, and understanding of complex legal issues.
  • Flexible to work in other practice areas such as corporate law.
  • Commercial acumen and articulate communication skills.
