Job Description

Provide legal support to KVI’s waste management and green energy businesses worldwide, with a particular focus on the Middle East and emerging markets. Support complex and innovative international transactions, project execution, corporate governance, and dispute management.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with regional leadership to identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks, review and approve transactions, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Structure, negotiate, and draft international and domestic agreements with clients, partners, sponsors, financing institutions, contractors, suppliers, and service providers, especially focusing on KVI’s businesses in the Middle East.
  • Assist with engaging external counsel and managing dispute resolution across jurisdictions.
  • Provide solutions-oriented legal advice on daily operational matters, including compliance and internal processes.
  • Promote best legal, commercial, and ethical practices within KVI.
  • Ensure compliance and deliver legal training to KVI personnel.
  • Develop and maintain standard contract templates and precedents.
  • Stay informed about relevant legal and industry developments.

Qualifications

  • Qualified common law lawyer (preferably admitted in England and Wales) with strong academic credentials.
  • 6+ years of PQE, preferably gained at an international law firm or in-house legal department of an international project company.
  • Experience in:
  • Drafting, negotiating, and structuring complex construction contracts and project documents.
  • Project finance transactions.
  • Engaging with public and private clients, development partners, financiers, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Corporate and governance matters, including company formations, filings, and secretarial work.
  • Managing public and private tenders and bid submissions.
  • Handling construction claims from contractor and owner perspectives.
  • Managing legal aspects of M&A transactions and disputes across jurisdictions.

Willingness to assist with legal matters related to Kanadevia Inova’s Middle Eastern entities and the wider group is expected. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic, German, or French is a plus. Experience in renewable energy is advantageous.
