Legal Counsel - DP World

Provide effective, reliable, and user-friendly support, advice, and assistance to senior managers within DP World on legal matters affecting any aspect of DP World's business. Act under the instructions and directions of the Senior Legal Counsel and VP Corporate Legal & General Counsel.

1. Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of legal documents relevant to the assigned business unit (including consultancy agreements, services agreements, lease agreements, MOUs, NDAs), ensuring that legal requirements are met.
2. Provide reliable, commercially focused advice efficiently and effectively.
3. Identify and analyze legal issues arising in transactions and new projects, making clear and commercially focused recommendations after review by Senior Legal Counsel.
4. Analyze legal queries and provide legal opinions.
5. Report effectively to the Senior Legal Counsel.
6. Liaise with external counsel as required, streamline communication between departments and external lawyers, and oversee work by external legal counsel.
7. File and maintain legal records for future reference.
8. Promote and demonstrate behaviors aligned with DP World’s values and culture.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager and department head.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Essential Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Law from an accredited university in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, or other English-speaking countries, plus a license to practice law.

Desirable Qualification: Must be an Arabic speaker with experience working in the Middle East.

Work Experience: 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in the region, preferably as an in-house lawyer in real estate.

Technical Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong drafting skills, experience in corporate and commercial transactions, and a good understanding of business needs and commercial awareness.
