Legal Counsel

About The Role
Legal Counsel will provide essential support across various legal and compliance workstreams, within the scope of corporate, commercial, technology, intellectual property, data protection, and dispute resolution work. The successful candidate will work closely with the head of the legal department to assist in ensuring the smooth operation of legal and compliance processes, gaining valuable experience in a broad range of legal areas. The position's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. providing legal support for Atlantis The Palm, Aquaventure World and Atlantis The Royal and Residences
2. assisting the General Counsel in corporate and commercial legal obligations and initiatives related to regulations through managing contract and regulatory compliance, and identifying potential legal risks
3. dealing with a broad array of topics: hospitality, entertainment, real estate, resort operations, sales, marketing and PR, events, food and beverage, real estate law (including residential), retail and development (including design contracts), risk-management, procurement, employee related issues, local and cross border law issues
4. managing the relationship with owners and asset managers, coordinating tax, insurance, IP and other various functions as required
5. assisting with Intellectual Property for Atlantis Dubai, including licensing, registration, enforcement, settlements, oppositions, litigation and monitoring
6. assisting with Data Privacy for Atlantis Dubai
7. advising on animal welfare, aquarium and research collaboration
8. actively managing and optimizing the use of legal services provided by outside counsel
9. supporting finance and accounting teams
10. working closely with corporate management globally to provide legal advice and support for Atlantis strategic business development

About You
We are looking for a professional with 2-4 years PQE with documented experience in UAE or GCC region. Person in this role reports to the General Counsel for Atlantis Dubai and should demonstrate collaborative mindset and willingness to assist across different legal areas of expertise. The role requires an independent and creative attorney with the ability to manage varied workload and work effectively with stakeholders, colleagues, owners, franchisees, vendors, consultants, clients and lenders across varied cultures and legal environments. Full working proficiency in English language is mandatory, Arabic would be beneficial.
