Legal Counsel — Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Location: Abu Dhabi Government, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Job Role: Legal Counsel
Duration: 6 Months Fixed
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice in the area of intellectual property law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements and licenses.
- Advise on IP strategy, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Support cross-functional teams (legal, R&D, commercial, technical) on IP matters.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law; an LLM or equivalent is preferred.
- Admitted to a recognised bar (common law jurisdiction preferred, e.g., UK, US, Australia).
- Qualified lawyer with 4 to 8 years PQE in intellectual property law.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters.
- Solid understanding of trade marks, copyright, and design law; patent familiarity advantageous.
- Experience in licensing and commercial exploitation of IP.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance legal risks with business objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams (legal, R&D, commercial, technical).
