This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, bridging communication between legal and audit teams. The Legal Coordinator is responsible for interpreting and analyzing complex legal documents, drafting legal materials, and conducting thorough legal research. In addition, the role involves coordinating audit activities within a legal framework and providing crucial support to mitigate legal risks and maintain organizational compliance. Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are key to success. The Legal Coordinator works closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory bodies to promote a culture of integrity and ensure adherence to legal standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key liaison between legal and audit teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Interpret and analyze complex legal documents, providing insights that are essential to audit activities and compliance efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage the audit process within a legal framework, including scheduling, planning, and overseeing the execution of audits.
  • Support the Director of Legal Affairs & Internal Audit by providing critical legal assistance in mitigating risks and promoting a culture of compliance across the organization.
  • Facilitate clear and efficient communication between legal and audit teams, addressing legal issues identified during audits and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory agencies to resolve legal and compliance concerns, ensuring adherence to local laws and institutional standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or related field, with a preference for a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Strong understanding of legal principles and regulations, coupled with proficiency in legal research tools like Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in legal, audit, or compliance roles, including experience in coordinating audit activities within a legal context.

Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders.

Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills essential for managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment.
