Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Workpack Engineer (I&C) as part of our Construction team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectations, this full-time onshore position is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Objectives:

1. Lead the formulation and implementation of the overall Construction / Implementation Plan, developing a work packaging/purchasing strategy, selecting sub-contractors, constructing the facility, and pre-commissioning for startup. Involved in all project stages, from initiation through commissioning and startup.
2. Lead constructability input to engineering teams by applying construction knowledge to reduce costs, enhance quality, safety, and productivity, shorten schedules, and eliminate inefficiencies.
3. Assist in developing the PMP/PEP, bid submissions, construction methodology, and strategies.
4. Provide construction technical support throughout FEED and detailed design phases, acting as a technical authority in construction discipline.
5. Guide project controls in developing the build sequence and construction schedule, proactively managing risks.
6. Contribute to contracting strategies and bid clarification processes.
7. Act as team leader in the constructability team, overseeing the conversion of engineering designs into workpacks and directing team members.
8. Ensure delivery of construction deliverables meet technical standards to facilitate site activities.
