Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced Lead Welding Engineer on a contract basis in the United Arab Emirates. The role requires ownership of welding engineering activities across critical assets, ensuring alignment with project specs, approved procedures, and international codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of relevant experience, GCC work experience mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years in a lead or supervisory welding engineering role on major construction projects.
• Proven experience in pipeline welding, process piping, pressure vessels, structural steel, and related facilities.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, qualifying, and implementing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and related documentation.
• Experience applying international welding codes and standards (ASME IX, ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 1104, AWS Dl.l).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all welding engineering activities per project specs and standards.
• Develop, review, and approve WPS, PQR, and related welding docs.
• Coordinate welding activities for pipelines, piping, vessels, and structures.
• Review materials, welding consumables, and traceability requirements.
• Supervise welder qualifications and monitor performance.
• Coordinate welding inspections with QA/QC, client reps, and authorities.
