Job summary

Sener in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Senior Structural Design Manager to lead the structural design discipline across major Rail & Metro projects. You will guide teams from concept to IFC, overseeing technical direction and coordinating with clients and stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates bring extensive reinforced concrete experience, mastery of design software such as ETABS/SAP2000/SAFE/STAAD Pro/AutoCAD, and BIM coordination with Revit Structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of overall structural engineering experience.
• Rail & Metro design experience, including full lifecycle delivery.
• Extensive experience on major Rail & Metro structures.
• Reinforced concrete design experience mandatory; steel desirable.
• Proven experience leading structural design teams and deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, methods, and standards.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit Structure, BIM coordination, digital workflows.
• Strong leadership, client management, communication, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the Structural Design team, including resource planning and performance.
• Plan and manage deliverables across concept, preliminary, detailed, and IFC stages.
• Lead design for major Rail & Metro structures including stations and depots.
• Provide technical direction and oversight of design approaches and standards.
• Act as primary client contact for structural design, coordinating with stakeholders.
• Review and approve key calculations, drawings, reports and specifications.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in complex design and technical problem-solving.
• Lead design reviews, workshops, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
• Monitor progress, quality, resources, and risks; resolve complex issues.
• Mentor engineers and improve design methodologies and processes.
