We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and govern end-to-end technology solutions that support business initiatives within an assigned domain.
Working under the guidance of the Domain Architect, the Solution Architect will translate target architecture into practical solution designs, ensuring projects deliver scalable, secure and maintainable technology solutions while adhering to enterprise architecture standards.
This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product owners, enterprise architects and third-party vendors throughout the solution lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end solution architectures for business and technology initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solution designs.
- Produce solution blueprints, architecture diagrams and technical specifications.
- Ensure solutions align with the target domain architecture and enterprise standards.
- Balance functional, technical and non-functional requirements when designing solutions.
Project Delivery
- Provide architectural leadership throughout project delivery.
- Resolve architectural issues, technical risks and design challenges.
- Participate in sprint planning, design workshops and technical reviews.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet quality, security and performance requirements.
Integration & Application Design
- Define application interactions and integration patterns.
- Design APIs and service interfaces.
- Support event-driven and microservices-based architectures where appropriate.
- Ensure interoperability between enterprise applications and shared platforms.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams on deployment architectures.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business analysts, product owners and engineering teams to understand business needs.
- Present solution options, trade-offs and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Domain Architects to ensure consistency across initiatives.
Governance & Assurance
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture principles.
- Conduct solution design reviews and technical assessments.
- Identify technical debt and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Support architecture governance and design authority activities.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy and regulatory requirements.
Technology Leadership
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend appropriate adoption.
- Promote reusable solution patterns and best practices.
- Mentor development teams on architectural standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture methodologies.
Required Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture or Senior Software Engineering.
- Experience working within complex digital transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration and application architecture.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional business and technology teams.
- Excellent German (and English)stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
