Lead Security Architect - Applied Cryptography

QuantumGate is a startup within VentureOne, supported by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and its research arm, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). We specialize in developing and commercializing advanced post-quantum cryptographic solutions, with a mission to secure enterprise digital environments through cutting-edge protocols and applications that address the challenges of the post-quantum era.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced software/security solution architect to lead our team in designing and implementing secure systems focused on applied cryptography. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cryptographic algorithms, their application in software development, and experience leading development teams. Familiarity with modern security standards, protocols, and solutions is essential.

Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement secure systems and architectures emphasizing applied cryptography.
  2. Conduct research and development on new cryptographic techniques and algorithms.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test software applications and systems.
  4. Lead and mentor a team of developers to ensure secure coding practices and adherence to development standards.
  5. Participate in designing and implementing security policies and procedures.
  6. Develop and maintain technical documentation related to software security and cryptography.
  7. Work with external partners and clients to integrate security requirements into their systems.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  2. 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on security and applied cryptography.
  3. Strong knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and their software applications.
  4. Understanding of computer networking and TCP/IP protocols.
  5. Experience leading and managing development teams.
  6. Proficiency with software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  10. Security certifications such as CISSP are a plus.
