Job summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced renewable energy consultant to support solar, wind and energy storage projects across the UAE region. You will provide technical advisory, due diligence, and feasibility studies while coordinating with global experts to deliver high-quality reports and client solutions.

The role involves design reviews, reporting to clients, and ensuring quality and ethics aligned with BV standards across domestic and network markets.

Qualifications

• Educational background: BE in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or equivalent.
• Postgraduate in energy domain is advantageous.
• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong understanding of BV’s vision, capabilities and renewable energy offerings.
• Coordinate with global product lines, technical leads and SMEs across regions.
• Lead solar, wind and BESS assessments, energy yield studies and feasibility reports.
• Lead technical due diligence and lenders’ engineering activities.
• Prepare feasibility studies and detailed project reports.
• Lead design reviews for owners’ engineering projects across markets.
• Prepare and present technical reports to clients and address queries.
• Review deliverables for accuracy, completeness and quality.
• Support business development for technical advisory and owners’ engineering services.
• Identify and empanel subcontractors for peak workload periods.
• Ensure compliance with BV Quality Assurance System and ethics.

Job description

Major Responsibilities

• Business understanding: Maintain a strong understanding of Bureau Veritas’ vision, capabilities, and renewable energy service offerings.
• Global technical coordination: Coordinate with Global Product Lines, Technical Leads, and Subject Matter Experts across regions to support and strengthen Bureau Veritas’ renewable energy service portfolio.
• Renewable project assessment: Lead assignments related to solar, wind, and BESS potential assessment, energy yield assessment, project feasibility reports, detailed project reports, and technical specifications based on client requirements.
• Technical due diligence: Lead technical due diligence and lenders’ engineering activities for renewable energy portfolios.
• Feasibility and DPR preparation: Prepare feasibility studies and detailed project reports for renewable energy projects.
• Design review: Lead design review activities for owners’ engineering projects across domestic markets and network countries.
• Client reporting: Prepare and present technical reports to clients and address queries or clarifications effectively.
• Quality review: Review all deliverables before submission to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Business development: Support and drive business development for technical advisory and owners’ engineering services in the region.
• Subconsultant network: Identify and empanel subcontractors or specialist partners to support project execution during high workload periods or when specific competencies are required.
• Quality and ethics compliance: Ensure performance aligns with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, Code of Ethics, corporate standards, values, identity, policies, and procedures.

Qualification and Experience

• Educational background: BE in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Postgraduate advantage: Post-graduation in the energy domain would be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience: 10+ years of experience in renewable energy consultancy.

• Technical expertise: Strong technical ability to understand, analyse, and propose optimal solutions for client requirements.
• Contract and due diligence experience: Expertise in contract review, technical due diligence, lenders’ engineering, and owners’ engineering for renewable energy portfolios.

• Site assessment: Experience in site assessment for renewable energy projects.
• Solar resource assessment: Knowledge of solar resource assessment and energy yield assessment.
• Technical writing: Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills.
