AtkinsRealis is seeking to appoint an experienced Lead Principal Structural Engineer to join our Buildings Structures team in the Middle East within our UAE or KSA offices. Responsibilities
  • Support Atkins in managing, leading, and developing the Structural Engineering team to ensure a continued high level of technical creativity, quality, and performance.
  • Become an industry leader within Structural Engineering for Atkins in the Middle East and drive our expertise into the market, both for developing new business opportunities and for industry peers.
  • Lead design efforts, deliver presentations, collaborate, perform structural calculations, prepare reports, specifications, and oversee REVIT / BIM teams.
  • Encourage the development of innovative ideas and approaches to create competitive advantages, value client solutions, and generate new revenue sources.
  • Mentor team members for career development, focusing on technical and managerial growth, employee engagement, and project ownership. Identify skill enhancement needs.
  • Present at internal/external conferences, seminars, and client events; may have works published in professional journals.
  • Support department management in the design and operational management of the Middle Eastern team.
  • Assist in consulting, business development, and client relationship management to develop sustainable and profitable business.
  • Maintain accurate project records, forecast revenue and resources, and oversee commercial management to ensure costs align with revenue.
  • Monitor project progress, manage resources, and ensure efficient, innovative, and coordinated project delivery.
  • Coordinate work across multiple Atkins units, external consultants, and third-party reviewers.
  • Adapt to different cultures and environments, work under pressure, and be flexible to travel across the GCC for project support.
Requirements
  • Enthusiastic, creative individuals with strong communication skills, eager to learn and grow within a team environment.
  • Masters / Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering with >15 years’ experience.
  • Chartered status with an internationally recognized institution.
  • Significant consulting experience, including project and tender management, in challenging environments.
  • Experience leading consulting projects, motivating teams, and acting as a technical resource.
  • Strong consulting, business acumen, engineering, technical, and functional knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) in English.
