Job summary

KBR is seeking a Lead Planning Engineer - PMC for an onshore site project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role supervises planning activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and budget compliance per ADNOC standards and best practices.

The candidate will develop schedules, monitor progress, perform variances analysis, and support risk management with proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. This is a high-exposure MEGA EPC assignment based in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business administration, or a related field.
• PMP, PMI-SP, CCP or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
• 18+ years of experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, or cost control.
• Experience in construction, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, engineering or industrial projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or other planning tools.
• Monitor project progress against baselines and analyze schedule variances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports and dashboards.
• Identify risks and prepare mitigation plans; support recovery plans when delays occur.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors, and Clients to optimize resources.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Planning Engineer to supervise and provide technical support across all stages of project management, from concept through commissioning and handover. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with ADNOC standards and international best practices.

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or other planning tools.

• Monitor project progress against approved baselines.

• Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective actions.

• Support the preparation of recovery and mitigation plans when delays occur.

Cost Control & Budget Management

• Track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.

• Monitor cost performance and identify budget deviations.

• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and earned value analyses.

• Assist in preparing change orders and variation claims.

Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.

• Generate KPIs and dashboards for management review.

• Monitor project deliverables, milestones, and performance indicators.

• Ensure timely reporting of project risks, delays, and issues.

Risk Management

• Identify and assess project risks affecting schedule, cost, and resources.

• Maintain project risk registers.

• Support mitigation planning and implementation.

Resource Management

• Analyze manpower, equipment, and material requirements.

• Monitor resource utilization and productivity.

• Coordinate with project teams to optimize resource allocation.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors, and Clients.

• Participate in project review meetings.

• Provide management with accurate project performance insights and recommendations.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain project control records and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, and contractual requirements.

• Support audits and project reviews as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, CCP, or equivalent are advantageous.

Experience

• 18+ years of experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, or cost control.

• Experience in construction, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, engineering, or industrial projects preferred.

• Proven experience using project management and scheduling software.
