We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Planning Engineer to oversee project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring for large-scale construction and oil & gas projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all projects are executed efficiently, meeting cost, time, and quality objectives. This role requires extensive experience in planning methodologies, project control tools, and strong coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, monitor, and control project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
Prepare detailed project execution plans, resource allocation, and progress measurement systems.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure accurate schedule updates.
Perform critical path analysis and forecast project delays or risks with mitigation strategies.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including variance analysis and recovery plans.
Integrate cost and schedule data to support project control and performance tracking.
Ensure compliance with project management standards, contractual requirements, and client specifications.
Lead planning meetings and provide expert advice to management on schedule optimization.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to align their schedules with the overall project plan.
Support claims and extension of time (EOT) submissions with accurate schedule analysis and documentation.
Essential Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).
Master’s Degree in Project Management or equivalent certification (desirable).
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the Middle East within Construction and / or Oil & Gas industries.
Skills Required :
Proficiency in project management and planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
Strong knowledge of project controls, work breakdown structure (WBS), and earned value management (EVM).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to prepare accurate reports, presentations, and documentation for senior management.
Understanding of contractual terms, claims, and project risk management.
