Job summary

Emirates Group’s Analytics Centre of Excellence seeks a Lead Performance Engineer to ensure the performance, availability, scalability and reliability of a suite of data products including big data technologies. You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop a performance engineering and testing strategy spanning data products, with a focus on reducing bottlenecks and improving time to market.

In this role you will drive NFR definitions, work with Cloud platforms (Azure, Cloudera) and CI/CD

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in performance engineering for scalable, mission-critical apps.
• 3+ years leading the performance engineering practice for data/BI and real-time streaming.
• Experience with big data, data warehouse, and cloud platforms (Azure, Cloudera).

Responsibilities

• Participate in full Performance Engineering lifecycle across projects.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Development to design for performance.
• Define and enforce NFRs in backlogs and sprint plans.
• Improve observability and diagnose bottlenecks in data systems.
• Drive performance testing strategy to enable faster time to market.
