Job summary

Dashco in Dubai is seeking a Lead Outage Engineer (Field Engineer Steam Turbine) to lead turbine outages and field activities. The role requires coordinating teams and directing installation, maintenance and overhaul work on GE steam turbines in Dubai with substantial international travel.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree or equivalent with extensive GE turbine experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read complex diagrams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in GE steam turbine technology installation, maintenance, or 10 years with HS/GED in field service.
• OEM field engineering training is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of steam turbines and GE parts identification.
• Extensive travel required (up to 80%).
• Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, inspections, aftermarket upgrades and field works on turbines and direct supervisors and craft labor.
• Manage steam turbine installations and overhauls.
• Respond to emergency repairs and troubleshoot equipment.
• Provide technical direction and support during outage execution.
• Write technical reports, prepare job status updates and customer communications.
• Ensure parts are shipped to site and work aligns with safety and quality standards.
• Travel to projects and support remote customer base as needed.

Job description

We are currently workingwith aUAE-based turbine field services company on a Lead Outage Engineer role based in Dubai

Position:Lead Outage Engineer (Field Engineer Steam Turbine)

Location:Dubai United Arab Emirates with extensive international travel (up to 80% of the time)

Job Type:Full-time permanent role

Duties & responsibilities:

• Perform installations inspections aftermarket upgrades and field works on turbines and be responsible for directing supervisors and craft labor to perform those works.
• Manage perform and coordinate the Steam turbine installations and overhauls.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troubleshoot theequipment.
• Provide customers and contractors with technical direction and support during installation and outage execution.
• Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports ordering materials securing quotations preparing job status reports reports to customers time sheets timely and thoroughly.
• Signs off on all changes implemented during overhauls.
• Assure work executed aligns with technical requirements and company safety and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance support to the Customers.
• Prepare detailed technical reports for customer records and recommendations for future outages.
• Ensure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the site.
• When not on the field project you may be assigned to other duties to help drive companies market growth including but not limited to remote support of Customer base reports reviews maintenance documentation preparations outage planning support etc.
• Maintain up-to-date awareness and understanding of the steam turbines and associated corrective actions.

Required qualifications & experience:

• A technical university degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience working on GE steam turbine technology installation maintenance or a High School / GED diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a steam turbine field service installation or equipment maintenance role.
• Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) field engineering training or equivalent is mandatory.
• Solid understanding and technical knowledge of steam turbines and associated equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of GE parts identification using BOM and drawings for gas and steam turbines.
• Knowledge of standard installation procedures and outage scopes repair procedures and practices.
• Technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical / mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.
• Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.
• English proficiency required.
