Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) for an offshore and onshore Oil & Gas project in Abu Dhabi.

You will provide technical leadership for E&I commissioning, ensuring safe completion from construction to handover and coordinating with multi‑discipline teams. The role requires extensive experience in offshore platforms, topsides, and complex control systems, with a focus on safe energization, testing, and system integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 18-22 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation commissioning within Oil & Gas, Offshore, LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, or EPC/EPCI projects.
Minimum 5 years in a Lead Commissioning or Senior Commissioning Engineering role.
Proven experience in Offshore Platforms and Topsides, Wellhead Towers, Jackets and Bridges, Substations, and related systems.
Preferred certifications include PMP, BOSIET/HUET, IEC 61511, CompEx, NEBOSH, and Commissioning Management Certification.

Responsibilities

Lead Electrical and Instrumentation commissioning teams throughout project execution.
Develop commissioning strategies, execution plans, schedules, procedures, and system completion programs.
Coordinate cable continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and loop checking activities.
Manage Mechanical Completion, Ready for Commissioning, Ready for Start-Up, and Final Handover milestones.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and procedures during commissioning.
Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Operations, Vendors, and Client representatives.
