Responsibilities

• Review vendor drawings and test reports; monitor mechanical run tests
• Coordinate with process and instrumentation on equipment control and performance
• Support FAT and site commissioning activities
• Ensure compliance with API standards and client specifications
• Mentor rotating equipment engineers within the project team

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in rotating equipment to lead all rotating equipment engineering activities on a major gas processing facility project. The candidate will be responsible for the technical oversight of pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating machinery throughout the project lifecycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the selection, specification, and engineering of rotating equipment including centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, pumps, turbines, and fans
• Develop and review equipment datasheets, technical specifications, and purchase requisitions
• Conduct technical bid evaluations and review vendor proposals for rotating equipment
• Review vendor drawings, performance test reports, and mechanical run test results
• Coordinate with process and instrumentation disciplines on equipment control and performance requirements
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and site commissioning activities
• Ensure compliance with API standards and client engineering specifications
• Manage and mentor rotating equipment engineers within the project team

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering for oil & gas projects; specialist-level candidates also considered
• Strong expertise in compressor, pump, and turbine engineering to API 617, 674, 676, 610, and 670 standards
• Hands-on experience with performance and mechanical run testing
• Familiarity with ADNOC gas processing projects and mega gas facilities is highly preferred
• Prior involvement in Habshan-type gas processing facilities will be considered an advantage
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
• Strong vendor management and multi-discipline coordination skills
