Job summary

KBR in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) to lead design and specification of pumps, compressors, turbines and related rotating equipment for oil & gas projects.

You will develop datasheets, technical specifications and vendor bid evaluations, provide technical leadership to the project team, and support selection and life-cycle cost studies. Middle East experience is required; relocation to Abu Dhabi is expected.

Qualifications

Minimum 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering for oil and gas projects.
6–7 years in oil & gas sector with rotating equipment.
Experience in Middle East and based in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

Develop discipline work plans and datasheets for rotating equipment.
Prepare technical specifications, requisitions, and vendor bid evaluations.
Provide technical leadership to the project team and coordinate with clients.
Support selection of equipment types and life cycle cost studies.
Participate in HAZOP/HAZID and other studies; ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

Job Requirement

Senior Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in design and specification of Rotating Equipment such as Pumps Compressors GTG packages Specialty and Utility Equipment in the Oil & Gas hydrocarbon petroleum refinery onshore brownfield work. Experience in FEED detailed engineering and Concept of medium to large scale projects in Middle east required. To be based in Abu Dhabi- UAE.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies

Knowledge & understanding of Design selection Construction installation Pre-commissioning and Mechanical Completion phases for Rotating Equipment and Turbo Machinery
Wide knowledge of codes and industry standards. Keep abreast of Industry Codes & Standards (API 676) and Guidelines related to rotating equipment and packages.
Familiar with the latest engineering and analytical techniques/software as applicable.

Job Responsibility and Requirement

Develop discipline work plan. Prepare datasheets technical specification technical requisitions technical bid evaluations for Engineering Selection and Procurement assistance of Rotary Equipment & Packages like Pumps (Centrifugal Screw Reciprocating Metering & Fire water) Compressors (Centrifugal Screw and Reciprocating) Generators (Diesel & Gas engine/ Gas Turbines) Drivers (Gas Turbines Motor & Engines) Fans Blower Agitators Handling equipment (Cranes Hoists) Follow up on technical scope of work with vendors & support process engineers in selecting type of rotating equipment. Perform technical studies such as compressor configuration studies driver selection and life cycle cost studies material handling studies etc. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team including the Clients in rotating equipment. Responsible for design integrity of mechanical scope on-schedule delivery of the work within budget. Technical bid evaluation Vendor document review and support pre-commissioning and commissioning of rotating equipment for brownfield and greenfield projects as necessary. Participate in HAZOP/HAZID Model reviews other studies for packages and closeout of any open actions..
