Lead Mechanical Engineer

The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and execution of mechanical engineering projects across various stages from concept through to completion. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and UAE regulations, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. The engineer will work in a fast-paced environment that may include construction sites, industrial facilities, or design offices, depending on the nature of the projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Leading mechanical engineering design and analysis for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems.
2. Reviewing and approving engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
3. Coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
4. Supervising site installations, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
5. Ensuring all mechanical systems comply with UAE codes, ASHRAE standards, and local authority approvals.
6. Managing project schedules, budgets, and resources while mitigating risks and resolving technical issues.
7. Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership across project teams.
8. Preparing progress reports and participating in client meetings and presentations.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree or PMP certification is an advantage.
2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within the UAE or GCC.
3. Proven expertise in building services design, mechanical system integration, and project execution.
4. Familiarity with UAE regulations, DEWA/ADDC requirements, and local authority submission processes.
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and mechanical design software.
6. Strong leadership, team coordination, and communication skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining technical quality.
8. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an asset.
