Job summary

Wood is seeking a Lead Material and Corrosion Engineer for the ADNOC Offshore US LTPD project in Abu Dhabi. The role requires leadership of material selection, corrosion control, and integrity management in accordance with API, ASME, DNV, and ADNOC standards.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in offshore oil and gas, PMC experience, and a proven track record on Middle East/GCC projects, with strong communication and team management capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in upstream offshore oil & gas.
  • PMC experience is highly preferable.
  • Experience on Middle East / GCC projects with major clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong leadership skills.

  • Conduct RBI, audit EPC deliverables, and manage cathodic protection/coatings.

  • Prepare/review MSDs, MSRs, and piping material specifications.
  • Develop CMP, IOW, and conduct corrosion modeling and evaluation.

Job description

Wood is currently recruiting for Lead Material and Corrosion Engineer under ADNOC Offshore US LTPD project.

Responsibilities
Job Objective
  • Provide technical expertise in all Materials and Corrosion
  • Oversees material selection, corrosion control, and integrity management ensuring compliance with international standards (API, ASME, DNV) and ADNOC standards
  • Conducting RBI, auditing EPC contractor deliverables, and managing cathodic protection/coatings
  • Perform regular and timely technical reviews of contractors, ensuring quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare/review Material Selection Diagrams (MSD), Material Selection Reports (MSR), and Piping Material Specifications
  • Develop Corrosion Management Plans (CMP), Integrity Operating Windows (IOW), and conduct corrosion modeling (e.g., ECE software).
  • Review and approve EPC contractor deliverables, Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and Non-Material Requirements (NMR)
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, API (579, 571), BS 7910, DNV, and ADNOC standards
  • Conduct risk assessment workshops (HAZOP/HAZID), RBI, and troubleshoot site‑specific corrosion issues
  • Provide expertise in coatings, painting, insulation, and cathodic protection
  • Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.
  • Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
  • Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
  • Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
  • Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department
  • Interface regularly with Contractor's and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 15+ years of experience, predominantly in the oil and gas upstream offshore industry, working for competitor organizations such as Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, and Saipem

PMC experience is highly preferable

Large‑project experience is a must, with Middle East / GCC experience on projects involving clients such as Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO, etc

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent technical team management and interpersonal skills

Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards

Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software

Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing, and coordinating activities to develop solutions to complex problems
