Job summary

NMC Specialty Hospital in Al Ain seeks a Coding Supervisor to lead the Medical Coding Team in the Revenue Cycle Department. You will mentor staff, implement SOPs, train new coders, and drive quality and productivity to improve revenue while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years ICD/CPT coding experience, a paramedical degree, and a CPC/AHIMA/AAPC certification; EMR knowledge is preferred, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Paramedical with coding certification from AAPC/CPC/AHIMA; DRG coding and EMR knowledge preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using ICD and CPT coding and supervising the day-to-day functions of Medical Coding Team.
• Strong supervisory competencies in leadership, team development, coaching, mentoring and situational assessment skills.
• Knowledge in using computer and related software applications; proficient in MS Office programs.
• Supervisor judgment and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Coding Team members; provide guidance to address issues or concerns.
• Implement standard operating procedures and guidelines for the coding section in coordination with Revenue Cycle Manager.
• Train new and existing coding staff on expectations; drive quality and productivity to upgrade services’ codes and revenue.
• Monitor tasks to improve billing practices and increase revenue; conduct audits of IP and OP charts.
• Attend training and meetings to receive updated billing and coding information; report KPIs and performance outcomes to management.
• Communicate coaching needs and provide performance feedback to Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure timely reviews.
