Lead Engineer Associate II (Alarm Management) - UAE National Only

The candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


The incumbent will be required to work in a project environment - from study phase through designing, implementation, documenting, delivering, and maintaining Alarm Management solutions primarily in the Middle East Region. Optimizing project productivity and quality by driving and maintaining standardization will be an important goal. AMS solutions may involve interface with variety of source systems using industry standard protocols like OPC and ODBC.


Candidate is expected to have sound knowledge of such protocols.


Candidate will apply software technologies to achieve Alarm Management solutions across Oil & Gas, Refiner, chemical, minerals industries (after appropriate initial training in all relevant packages). The application could be deployed on-premises or in Cloud.


The position is a direct staff position with billability to external customer projects, intercompany customer projects and customer support services on average >= 90%.


The applicant will have a direct reporting line to the Engineering Manager for Alarm Management.


Key Responsibilities

Position requires approximately 40% travel mostly in the Middle East & Africa region.


The applicant will be responsible for:

  1. Working with the lead or senior engineer to design & deliver projects. Candidate will also be responsible for independently delivering their part of work with minimum supervision.
  2. Support development of conceptual, user requirement, functional and detailed technical design specifications and provides support and broad expertise for AMS applications.
  3. Establishing acceptance of designs with customer stakeholders. Translating and conveying impact of process and system changes to bottom line and articulating the benefits & value to the customer.
  4. Ensures that the appropriate test scripts, test data, test logs, & defect logs are in place to ensure quality delivery.
  5. Participate and facilitate critical project activities, ensuring buy-in and acceptance from the customer.
  6. Support change management within customer organization through preparation of business process diagrams, preparing training & best practice documentation, conducting training sessions.
  7. Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other disciplines.
  8. Communicate with internal team regarding technical issues, escalating these early in the project.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. Minimum bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, IT, or in similar discipline.
  2. Preferably holds industrial IT technology certificates (e.g. MCTS SQL Server, XML Services, Python and/or state-of-the-art Programming Languages).
  3. Good written and oral communication skills (in English & Arabic).
  4. Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  7. Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  8. Capable of focusing on and prioritizing key issues.
