Job Description

The Lead Draftsman (Pipeline) is responsible for preparing and developing detailed pipeline designs, drawings, and layouts for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects. This role involves working closely with engineers, project teams, and other disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare pipeline design drawings, plans, and schematics using CAD / 3D software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, PDMS, or equivalent).
  • Assist in route selection, alignment sheets, and material take-offs.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, codes (ASME, API, ISO), and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to resolve design-related issues.
  • Update and maintain pipeline drawings and documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review vendor drawings, perform clash checks, and incorporate feedback.
  • Participate in design review meetings, HAZOP / HAZID, and constructability reviews.
  • Support the preparation of as-built drawings and project documentation.
