Job summary

Penspen in Abu Dhabi urgently seeks a Lead Construction Engineer- Mechanical to oversee offshore mechanical construction for oil & gas projects. You will lead site execution, coordinate with multiple teams, and ensure HSE and quality compliance while delivering on schedule and within budget.

Ideal candidates bring 15–18+ years in oil & gas construction, with at least 5 years in a lead role and strong offshore experience. ADNOC-related exposures are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 15–18+ years in Oil & Gas construction with ≥5 years in a lead role.
• Minimum 5+ years offshore experience.
• Strong knowledge of offshore process and utility systems.
• Familiarity with international standards.
• PMC/EPC offshore project experience preferred.
• ADNOC project experience in a similar role is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead offshore mechanical construction activities per project specs, HSE, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and offshore teams for execution.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors to meet schedule and budget.
• Review construction procedures, method statements, and completion docs.
• Monitor progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project handover.
• Prepare construction reports and update project management regularly.

The ideal candidate will lead site execution, manage contractors, ensure HSE and quality compliance, monitor project progress, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise offshore mechanical construction activities in accordance with project specifications, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and offshore teams to ensure efficient project execution.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Review construction procedures, method statements, work packs, and mechanical completion documentation.
• Monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues, and implement corrective actions where required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and offshore regulations.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Prepare construction reports and provide regular progress updates to project management.

Qualifications And Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 15 TO 18+ years of experience in Oil & Gas Construction, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
• Minimum 5+ years of offshore experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of offshore process and utility systems.
• Familiarity with international standards
• PMC and EPC Offshore projects experience will be preferred
• Previous experience in the ADNOC projects in the similar role would be an added advantage
