Job summary

ABB in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to lead engineering activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring safety, quality, and contract adherence. You will act as design authority, coach engineers, and collaborate with customers to identify service opportunities.

Onsite role with international project exposure. Responsibilities include leading teams, applying design thinking, and delivering robust automation solutions using ABB control systems and protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering with automation focus.
• 5+ years in automation for Oil & Gas or Power/Water sectors.
• Experience with ABB 800xA and PMS/SCMS/ICSS.
• Strong English communication and collaboration with customers.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the technical lead and design authority for engineering deliverables.
• Ensure safety and quality in engineering outputs.
• Lead teams (less than 10) across multiple disciplines.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors, and ABB teams to resolve issues and pursue opportunities.
• Create work plans and cost estimates with Project Managers.
• Support installation, commissioning, and site activities; resolve engineering issues.
• Utilize ABB products (ABB INFI90/Harmony, Symphony Plus) as focal point for customer support.
