Land Surveyor - Bridges

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Through Parsons’ engineering and construction management services, we deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Our focus includes air, rail, road, and highway transportation; water conveyance and wastewater treatment; and land development and public infrastructure. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
  • Interface with clients and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
  • Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
  • Check setting-out and levels; verify service locations and ensure their protection.
  • Prepare sketches to support fieldwork; maintain all survey information (field books, sketches, calculations).
  • Measure work done when required.
  • Observe site safety procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built’ drawings.
  • Participate in health and safety issues at the site as required by the Resident Engineer and Safety Officer.
  • Perform other responsibilities as appropriate for the position.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Diploma in Surveying with a minimum of 10 years of experience in land surveying and setting-out of similar civil engineering projects, or a civil engineering degree with at least 5 years’ experience in land surveying and setting-out on bridge projects.
  • Knowledge of CAD software, survey software, total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
  • Understanding of construction sequences and standard work procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and logically with management and staff.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
