Job summary

DeepLight AI in the UAE is seeking a Data Engineer with strong AWS and banking sector experience to join our core engineering squad. You will design, build, and optimize scalable Lakehouse data solutions powering enterprise analytics and ML models, while ensuring banking security and governance.

Collaborate with data scientists and DevOps to implement feature pipelines, ML workflows, and production deployments on AWS SageMaker, with Terraform, Docker, and EKS.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering within banking, financial services, or fintech environments.
• Strong command of core AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift) and distributed processing (Spark/PySpark, Kafka).
• Proven track record building Lakehouse architectures (Databricks, Delta Lake).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build Next-Gen Lakehouse Architectures: design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions on AWS.
• Develop High-Throughput Pipelines: batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines for financial data.
• Optimize for Scale & FinOps: improve query performance and storage efficiency on AWS.
• Support Machine Learning & MLOps: collaborate with data scientists; enable production deployments on AWS SageMaker.
• Enforce Banking-Grade Governance: implement data security, encryption, access controls, audits.
• Automate Everything: manage IaC with Terraform; write clean Python; implement CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
