Confidential Company is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to perform comprehensive testing of honey and bee-derived products, including chemical, microbiological, and molecular analyses. You will handle raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products while ensuring regulatory and quality standards are met.
The role requires a relevant degree and training in GLP, GMP, ISO 17025, HACCP, and ISO 22000, with strong emphasis on documentation, traceability, and continuous improvement.
Perform physical, chemical, microbiological, and molecular laboratory testing of honey and bee-derived products.
Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, environmental samples, and water quality.
Conduct analytical testing including moisture, HMF, pH, electrical conductivity, sugar profile, ash content, pollen analysis, antioxidant activity, and other quality parameters.
Perform microbiological testing to verify product safety and compliance.
Receive, prepare, and analyze bee, brood, queen, wax, and hive samples for laboratory investigations.
Support disease surveillance through microbiological, molecular, and pathological testing.
Assist in investigations into colony mortality, disease outbreaks, pesticide exposure, and environmental contamination.
Support DNA and genetic analysis programs to verify bee lineage, queen breeding, and colony genetic consistency.
Prepare laboratory reports for bee health investigations.
Verify compliance of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products with approved specifications.
Perform in-process quality checks during manufacturing.
Review laboratory results and immediately report Out-of-Specification (OOS) findings.
Support product release activities through laboratory verification.
Maintain complete sample traceability.
Operate, calibrate, verify, and maintain laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
Monitor equipment performance and arrange preventive maintenance and calibration.
Maintain equipment qualification and calibration records.
Ensure laboratory instruments remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
Prepare laboratory worksheets, analytical reports, certificates of analysis (COA), and laboratory logbooks.
Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and GMP.
Ensure all laboratory activities comply with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Maintain sample traceability and laboratory data integrity.
Support research projects involving honey quality, bee products, pharmaceutical applications, nutraceuticals, and functional foods.
Participate in analytical method development and validation.
Assist in stability studies and product development projects.
Support scientific publications and technical reports.
Support internal audits, external audits, accreditation assessments, and certification inspections.
Prepare laboratory documentation required during regulatory inspections.
Assist with proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparison programs.
Maintain laboratory readiness for accreditation and compliance audits.
Follow laboratory safety procedures and biosafety protocols.
Handle chemicals, biological samples, and laboratory waste safely.
Ensure laboratory cleanliness and contamination control.
Report laboratory incidents and equipment failures immediately.
Recommend improvements to laboratory methods and analytical procedures.
Participate in validation of new laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
Support implementation of digital laboratory management systems (LIMS).
Maintain professional competency through continuous training and scientific development.
Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
Training in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality systems is highly desirable.
Minimum 3 years of experience in food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental, veterinary, or analytical laboratories.
Experience with honey analysis, microbiology, molecular biology, DNA testing, or food quality analysis is an advantage.
Experience operating analytical laboratory instruments and preparing Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
Experience in accredited laboratories is preferred.
