Job description

The Laboratory Analyst in the Oil and Gas sector performs technical and analytical testing on petroleum products, crude oil, gas samples, and related materials. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of laboratory results to support production, safety, and regulatory compliance. The analyst must follow strict quality standards and protocols while operating sophisticated lab equipment and interpreting results.

Responsibilities:

Conduct laboratory tests on petroleum, gas, and related samples.

Operate and maintain lab instruments such as GC, HPLC, and spectrometers.

Ensure compliance with testing standards such as ASTM, ISO, or API.

Prepare and analyze samples for physical and chemical properties.

Record and interpret test results with accuracy and timeliness.

Maintain laboratory documentation and test reports.

Calibrate instruments and ensure routine maintenance is performed.

Adhere to health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Investigate and report non-conforming results or abnormalities.

Collaborate with production and quality teams for process adjustments.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 2 4 years of experience in a laboratory within the oil and gas industry.

Hands-on experience with analytical testing methods and lab instruments.
