Job Overview

As an L1 NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for the first-level monitoring and support of network and system infrastructure. This includes handling alerts, performing initial troubleshooting, escalating issues, and ensuring consistent system performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network, servers, and applications using tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix
• Detect incidents promptly and respond to alerts following established SOPs
• Perform basic troubleshooting for connectivity issues, hardware faults, and system alerts
• Use remote access tools to investigate and resolve issues on network devices and servers
• Document incidents, resolution steps, and outcomes in incident management platforms like ServiceNow or Jira
• Categorize and prioritize incidents based on impact and urgency
• Communicate status updates to stakeholders and escalate to L2/L3 support where necessary
• Support system maintenance tasks such as applying patches, configurations, and updates
• Assist in performing daily health checks of infrastructure and applications
• Maintain updated documentation including network topologies, device configurations, and SOPs
• Generate regular reports on system performance, downtime, and incident trends
• Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to support root cause analysis and improvements
• Participate in 24/7 shift rotations and on-call support schedules, including weekends and holidays

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in network operations, IT support, or NOC roles
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and basic network principles
• Experience working with routers, switches, and firewalls
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ITSM platforms
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar are preferred
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts as part of a 24/7 operational team

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a 24/7 NOC or enterprise IT environment
• Understanding of ITIL processes such as incident and problem management
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and related monitoring tools
