Your new company

As a KYC Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with international anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations, and Price Cap Rules (PCR). Your responsibilities include conducting due diligence on new and existing clients and vendors (Know-Your-Customer, KYC), extended due diligence (Denied Party Screening, DPS), assessing risk levels, and ensuring transparent and lawful business dealings.

Your new role

• Conduct thorough KYC checks on new customers and vendors, including identity verification, background checks, and research.
• Review and update existing customer records regularly to ensure ongoing AML and PCR compliance.
• Perform DPS and recommend appropriate risk management measures related to counterparties.
• Analyze transactional patterns for potential risks or illicit activities.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to develop and enforce KYC policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on changes in maritime law, sanctions lists, AML regulations, and adjust KYC processes accordingly.
• Train staff on compliance matters and the importance of KYC.
• Prepare reports for management highlighting risks and compliance issues.
• Coordinate between sales, operations, and compliance to align KYC practices with business goals.

What you'll need to succeed

• At least 3 years of experience in trade sanctions within commodities trading, trade finance, or related industries.
• Knowledge of bribery and corruption regulations (minimum 3 years).
• Understanding of antitrust and competition law (minimum 3 years).
• Experience with KYC/DPS in commodities, trade finance, or oil & gas sectors (minimum 3 years).
