Job Description
OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
Perform various duties to ensure the orderly and timely completion of work orders received from internal guests, Duty Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Assistant Engineering Director, and Director of Engineering. Perform maintenance tasks involved in preventive maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be responsible for GMK2 master keys when on duty.
- Use communication devices at all times while on duty.
- Check with the duty engineering supervisor for job priorities.
- Check the logbook for follow-up jobs.
- Assign maintenance requests via communication device.
- If a maintenance task will take longer, immediately communicate with the Duty Engineering Supervisor.
- Ensure to close the maintenance request in the communication device after completing the job.
- Carry required tools.
- Follow all departmental procedures and instructions.
- Respond promptly to Knowcross service orders for problems, assistance, or emergency work orders.
- Follow hotel policies and procedures when entering guest rooms for repairs.
- Log daily readings as per duty roster.
- Follow tag and lockout procedures when working on electrically powered equipment.
- Maintain safety procedures/conditions in the working area and related areas.
- Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures.
- Ensure all spare parts and materials are properly ordered and received.
- Keep premises clean and tidy after completing work.
- Follow the PPM program for kitchen equipment and machinery assigned areas.
- Communicate daily work progress to the duty engineering supervisor before shift end.
- Log all activities in the logbook before leaving the hotel.
- Promote teamwork to achieve engineering goals.
- Check with co-workers before shift end to see if they need assistance.
- Inform the Duty Engineering Supervisor of daily work progress.
- Use proper telephone etiquette when answering hotel phones.
- Learn, understand, and embody the Rosewood Philosophy and Standards.
- Set high standards of quality, demonstrate commitment to service, and continually seek improvements.
- Perform routine maintenance on kitchen equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of replacement parts.
- Provide training and support to kitchen staff on equipment use and maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment complies with safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum one year as an Engineer in a 5-star hotel.
- Education: High school diploma; professional trade certification preferred.
- General Skills: Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, organization, problem-solving, teamwork, confidentiality.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in one specific trade as per educational qualification.
- Language: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to exert physical effort, endure movements, reach, remain stationary, and communicate effectively.
