Job summary

Th8 Palm Dubai is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support the Kitchen and Stewarding Team in daily operations and uphold the highest sanitation standards throughout the property, including storerooms and service areas. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and a proactive attitude in a luxury hotel setting.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel.
• Exceptional English communication skills; another language is a plus.
• Problem-solving skills and a methodical, logical approach.
• Accurate, detail-oriented and highly reliable.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Flexible to meet department needs and participate in trainings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in dishwashing, garbage removal, silver polishing, and pot washing as needed.
• Ensure safe, productive operation and comply with Health Department standards.
• Supervise sanitation of kitchen, storerooms, hallways, dock, and equipment.
• Do shift walkthroughs and continuously monitor stewarding areas.
• Answer the stewarding phone and assist operations with requirements.
• Assist in stock control for cleaning products and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchens and HOH areas and coordinate maintenance needs.
• Ensure paper towel dispensers are stocked and available.
• Attend department and operations meetings and support guest service needs.
• Flexible to redeploy to other areas as required.

Job description

As a Kitchen Steward, your job is to assist the Kitchen and Stewarding Team in daily operations and help maintain a safe working, and positive working environment and keep the highest standards of sanitation.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

Participate in dishwashing, garbage removal, silver polishing, pot washing or any other stewarding area as necessary in accordance with department needs (based on staffing or business levels!)

Ensure a safe and productive operation.

Assure compliance with Health Department standards.

Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen, storerooms, hallways, dock, and equipment.

At start of shift - do a complete walkthrough of stewarding areas to observe the status of all areas

Throughout the shift - continuously walk through all areas

Being responsible for answering Stewarding Phone and assisting all operations with requirements.

Assist in controlling stocks for daily use in the department (cleaning products, mop heads, etc.).

Assist in controlling breakage, waste

Assist in maintaining cleanliness of all kitchens and HOH areas as well as ensuring all maintenance needs are looked after.

Ensure all paper towel dispensers are always full throughout the shift.

Maintain regular attendance at department and operations meetings

All colleagues must assess situations and react accordingly through analysis and perspective.

All colleagues must be flexible and able to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the scope of their job, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
