About the job

As a Key Account Manager for Wilhelmsen Ships Service, you will be responsible for identifying and building new business while managing existing accounts.

The people at Wilhelmsen Ships Service don't just have a job; they realize the most innovative ideas and shape the maritime industry.

We provide marine solutions including the Unitor brand, Timm Ropes, Unicool refrigerants, and Unitor and Nalfleet marine chemicals. Last year, we supplied products to 27,500 ships. With the largest maritime network, we supply consumables, products, and solutions to all ship types in over 2,000 ports. At Wilhelmsen, we keep global trade moving.

The position and responsibilities
  1. Drive profitable sales growth from current and new customers within your portfolio.
  2. Develop robust and measurable Sales Activity Plans and act assertively to achieve targets.
  3. Build the sales pipeline to meet targets based on quality opportunities in existing accounts (share of wallet) and new business.
  4. Ensure customer portfolios adhere to all terms, including credit, and that deals generate optimal returns through proactive contract management.
  5. Focus on the GCC countries/Middle East region.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Marine or Mechanical Engineering qualifications are preferred.
  • Experience specific to the country/region, especially KSA/Kuwait.
  • Arabic language skills are desirable for managing the customer area.
  • International sales experience in technical sales is preferred.
  • Sailing or maritime engineering experience is a plus.
  • Proven results in sales with a track record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with good planning and organization skills.
  • Ambitious with a commercial mindset and a strong desire for success.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • IT literate with experience in Excel, MS Office, CRM systems, etc.
  • Highly structured and effective communicator with proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to adapt to change and drive change initiatives.
