How You Will Contribute:
- Research: Explore successful precedent sustainable urban design studies that illustrate the clients design intent
- Evaluate: Use your research to compare buildings and sites, analyze the effects of design on surrounding fabrics, determine the location of programs, and explore missing and possible building envelopes, materials, and building shape options
- Generate: Provide schemes, design options, and ideas to assist in the preparation of design presentation packages using various software tools
- Present: Ideas and designs clearly and professionally in line with the overall project goals and vision to principals
- Design: Use all of the above to be an influential part in the design process
What You Will Do:
- Generate ideas and assist in developing final deliverable documents and general input to design
- Collaborate with and incorporate the services designed by subconsultants, assist in coordination, and engage in an iterative process with consultants to arrive at optimal solutions
- Assist with business development initiatives and special projects
- Work to a development program for the project and proactively advise Senior team members of any issue which affects the efficient completion of the project
- Attend meetings with outside parties (e.g. clients, consultants, contractors) under supervision of Project Leadership
- Develop an awareness of CBT internal project budgets, project scheduling, and other professional practice protocols
- Perform documentation and presentation work including 3D modelling, illustrative plans, diagrams, spreadsheets, scale comparisons, and visualizations
- Assign work to Graduate (landscape architects and urban designers), BIM technicians, and administrative staff
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in urban design, city planning, architecture, or landscape architecture
- 1 year of professional experience
- A strong portfolio of work
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision on routine tasks but you still enjoy a participative approach to projects and are able to harmoniously collaborate in a team environment
- Demonstrated creative ability including urban landscape/architectural and graphic design
- Effective oral, written, and graphic communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of placemaking and community design
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, schedule, and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office; fluency in Rhino a plus
Current residency in the GCC is a plus
