About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sous Chef to join the Pastry team in Jumeirah Saadiyat Island The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Assist the Head Baker and Sous Chef in planning and preparing bakery products including bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
  • Supervise and support bakery staff to ensure high-quality standards and efficient production.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain strict hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Help train and mentor junior bakery staff.
  • Manage baking schedules to ensure timely production and delivery of products.
  • Assist in developing new recipes and improving existing products.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any issues.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the bakery during opening and closing procedures.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience; of which at least 2 years as a Junior Sous Chef with a luxury international hotel
  • College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.
