Job description

Eager to apply theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience in cost estimation, project budgeting, and contract administration within the dynamic environment. Dedicated to contributing to project success by ensuring accurate measurement and valuation of construction works, while continuously enhancing skills in quantity surveying methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in performing quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawing.

• Calculate quantities of materials required for construction projects based on specifications and drawings.

• Support Senior Quantity Surveyors in preparing cost estimates and bills of quantities.

• Assist in analyzing project costs and monitoring expenditures against budgets

• Track variations and change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting

• Assist in preparing tender documents and evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids.

• Support in administering contracts, including reviewing contract terms and conditions..

• Assist in procurement activities, including obtaining quotes and negotiating prices with suppliers

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of measurements, calculations, and project documentation

• Support in preparing claims for variations and additional work as required

• Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to resolve queries and ensure timely delivery of information

• Participate in project meetings and provide input on quantity surveying matters.

• Continuously update knowledge of quantity surveying practices, industry trends, and software tool

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience:

2 + years’ experience working experience in well-established Contracting Companies in GCC

• Key Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency in performing quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of cost estimating principles and methods to assist in preparing bills of quantities
• Civil Construction Quantity Surveying background.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction contracts.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Integrity in conducting quantity surveying activities and handling sensitive project information.
• Education and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
