Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the Process Engineering team in reviewing deliverables, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence on large oil/gas projects in the UAE.

You will participate in HAZOP/HAZID studies, assist in commissioning and start-up activities, and contribute to continuous improvement and robust operations. strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Chemical/Process Engineering or related field.
0–5 years in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, LNG, energy, or EPC/PMC projects.
Fundamentals of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer, and process calculations.
Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and process design docs.
Understanding of HAZOP/HAZID and risk assessment methodologies.

Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing process deliverables: PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, datasheets.
Support process design verification and compliance with specs, codes, standards.
Participate in safety studies such as HAZOP/HAZID and design review workshops.
Coordinate with engineering disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
Assist in monitoring construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
Review vendor submissions and technical documentation.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of process issues.
Monitor project progress and report risks or delays to senior engineers.
Develop operating procedures, commissioning plans, and performance tests.
Ensure HSE, environmental and quality management compliance.
