Are you passionate about network monitoring, security operations, and real-time troubleshooting? We are hiring a dedicated and proactive L1/L2 Network Engineer to join our IT operations team.

In this role, you will play a key part in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, responding to and troubleshooting security and network alerts, and escalating unresolved issues to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as needed. You will work under the guidance of Network SMEs, assisting in issue triaging, documentation, and ensuring continuous support in a 24x7 environment.

• Monitor network, system, and security alerts in real-time using dashboards, logs, and SIEM tools.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve alerts related to network, security, and system issues, taking immediate action where possible.
• Classify alerts based on the root cause (Network, Security, or DevOps) and escalate unresolved issues to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Perform network troubleshooting, configurations, and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Monitor, manage, and maintain all network devices including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions.
• Follow documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for triaging incidents, escalating cases, and maintaining service levels.
• Analyse security logs and alerts from SIEM and other monitoring tools to detect and mitigate potential threats.
• Document all incidents and resolutions, maintaining accurate records for analysis and future reference.
• Stay up to date on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices to enhance monitoring capabilities.
• Work in a rotating shift schedule (24x7 environment) to provide continuous monitoring and support.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 3-5 years of experience in network monitoring, security operations, or IT support roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching).
• Experience with network security technologies (Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (SIEM, PRTG, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Knowledge of security frameworks & standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
• Experience working in an NOC/SOC environment is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of system administration (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Ability to analyse and classify alerts into network, security, or system-related issues.
• Proficiency in ticketing systems & incident response protocols.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA (or equivalent) are a plus.
