Job summary

Wood seeks a PMC Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the mechanical team in reviewing, coordinating, installing, testing and commissioning mechanical equipment and systems to meet project specs, safety and schedules.

You will engage with multidisciplinary teams on site, review drawings and vendor documents, participate in inspections and commissioning activities, and help ensure safe, reliable delivery on high-profile energy projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–5 years of experience in EPC, PMC, oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, power, or infrastructure projects.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems incl. static/rotating equipment, piping and HVAC.
• Familiarity with drawings, P&IDs, equipment datasheets and specs.
• Understanding of mechanical design, installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specs, calculations and technical documents.
• Monitor mechanical construction, fabrication, installation and maintenance activities.
• Review contractor/vendor submissions for compliance with requirements.
• Participate in inspections, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, construction and commissioning.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, international standards, and HSE rules.
• Support procurement by reviewing specs and vendor docs.
• Assist in site inspections and punch-list closure.
• Prepare technical reports and progress updates.
