Job description

Junior Land Surveyor

Job Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
  2. Interface with clients and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
  3. Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
  4. Check setting-out and levels. Check service locations and ensure their protection.
  5. Prepare sketches to support the fieldwork. Maintain all the survey information (field books, sketches, and calculations).
  6. Assist concerned Engineer in verification and checking of shop drawings.
  7. Verification & routine checks of control points and benchmarks.
  8. Verification of setting out of works.
  9. Recording of initial and final levels of works.
  10. Verification of earthwork cross-sections.
  11. Take measurement of works inspected.
  12. Assist in the preparation of 'as-built' drawings. Review of 'as-built' record drawings.
  13. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and Project Safety Representative.
  14. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Job Details:

  • Diploma/Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in construction.
  • Experience in building/road and external work is a must.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience in using survey software such as total station, level.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
