Job summary

The Greater Change is seeking a skilled Joinery Draftsman to produce accurate 2D/3D technical drawings and shop drawings for bespoke furniture, cabinetry and joinery projects in the UAE. You will translate design concepts into production-ready drawings and coordinate closely with designers, project managers and the production team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of drafting experience in joinery, carpentry or furniture manufacturing.
• AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of joinery detailing and materials.
• Knowledge of UAE/local building codes and regulations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and layouts for joinery and cabinetry using AutoCAD.
• Interpret architectural and design drawings to develop accurate shop drawings for production.
• Coordinate with designers, project managers and production teams to meet specifications.
• Calculate dimensions and weight limitations and advise on hardware, finishes and materials.
• Conduct site measurements for dimensional accuracy and alignment with approved designs.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from clients or project managers.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project timelines.
• Maintain documentation and drawing revisions throughout production.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Joinery Draftsman with strong AutoCAD and joinery experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, shop drawings and layouts for custom furniture, cabinetry, joinery. You will translate design concepts and architectural drawings into practical, production-ready technical drawings while coordinating closely with designers, project managers and the production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and layouts for custom joinery, furniture and cabinetry projects using AutoCAD
• Interpret architectural and design drawings to develop accurate and practical shop drawings for production
• Coordinate with designers, project managers and production teams to ensure drawings meet project specifications and client requirements
• Calculate dimensions and weight limitations and advise on appropriate hardware, finishes and materials
• Conduct site measurements when required to ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment with approved designs
• Revise drawings based on feedback from clients, designers or project managers
• Ensure technical drawings comply with relevant industry standards, company guidelines and project timelines
• Maintain accurate documentation and drawing revisions throughout the production cycle

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Draftsman within joinery, carpentry, furniture manufacturing or a related industry
• Mandatory proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of joinery detailing, furniture construction methods and materials
• Experience producing accurate, high-quality technical and shop drawings
• Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
• Ability to understand architectural/design drawings and convert concepts into production-ready drawings
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of UAE/local building codes and regulations is an advantage
