Job Description:

Junior Highway Design Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi

The key responsibility of the Junior Highway Design Engineer is to support the BIM Coordinator and Project Delivery Teams in developing, establishing, and implementing BIM at Parsons' main office in Abu Dhabi. The BIM Modeler should possess strong CAD/BIM technical skills to produce 3D/2D models for drawing production, quality control, coordination, and constructability analysis.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support BIM implementation activities with the BIM Coordinator and project teams.
• Develop 3D/2D models for drawings, clash reports, and presentations, adhering to project standards.
• Extract models for clash analysis, schedule review, and quantity surveying.
• Coordinate model interfaces with other disciplines’ designers and engineers.
• Ensure models, drawings, and deliverables meet quality standards and BIM requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings from models, including layouts, profiles, and sections.
• Develop and extract 2D geometry for reviews and meetings.
• Deliver Project Information Models (PIMs) following protocols.
• Prepare BIM package submissions as per standards.
• Conduct clash detection and walkthroughs.
• Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis.
• Coordinate with the lead technical engineer to ensure timely delivery of outputs.

Desired Skills:

• Civil 3D modeling and workflows
• Knowledge of Civil 3D catalogs, libraries, standards, naming conventions, and templates
• Understanding of British Standards (BS/PAS 1192) and ISO 19650
• Experience with CDE, BIM model delivery, and digital delivery methods
• Quality assurance and validation skills
• Collaboration and clash detection expertise
• Quantity take-off and scheduling
• Asset information modeling, COBie, O&M, and tagging

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or ITI from an accredited institution
• At least 3 years of Civil 3D experience, proficient in current versions and CAD design
• Ability to set up new Civil 3D projects, solve problems, and produce detailed families and models
• Strong computer skills and experience producing working drawings
• Expertise in Civil 3D features including parametric modeling, bill of materials, assemblies, and shared coordinates
• Experience with BIM tools like Navisworks, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and preferable knowledge of ProjectWise, Bluebeam, Dynamo, etc.
• Roads & Highways project experience
• Knowledge of BIM standards and model requirements
