Junior GSE Maintenance Technician – Aviation Ground Support

Job summary

dnata is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to join the GSE team in Dubai. You will support technicians, carry out planned and non-planned maintenance, fault finding, servicing, and repairs on ground support equipment and vehicles, and assist with housekeeping and ad hoc tasks.

You will document activities in the log book and Maintenance Management System, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with senior staff for parts and tools to complete maintenance efficiently.

Qualifications

• Have completed a 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance – Facilities, Auto, Electric, Civil, Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and, or Cargo Handling Industry
• Have knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con & refrigeration systems of Light Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan individual tasks on a daily basis in their area of work
• Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
• Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Inform the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same.
• Assist in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area
• Execute all allocated tasks related to ULD Repairs/ Assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA/ GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians to maintain/repair facility equipment's including HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing, as well as Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.
